April DirectX SDK Released

A new version of the DirectX SDK has been released. \"Primary areas of concentration for update have been with the updates to the beta components for Direct3D 10, Managed for 2.0, and XAct. The included developer runtimes and the DirectX Redistributable have also been updated to include the latest updates.\"

New Version of Blender Pocket Released

\"Blender Pocket is an open source, handheld devices port of Blender, a 3D open-source software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering and playback. It runs using the Rasteroid OpenGL ES implementation (using a wrapper for any missing desktop OpenGL functions). Currently it runs on Pocket PC but the author is looking for other people to port to other other embedded devices supporting OpenGL ES. The latest version adds support for images with UV mapping.\"

Irrlicht 1.0 Released

Version 1.0 of the popular open source 3D engine Irrlicht has just been released. New features include an enhanced software rasterizer, better support for orthogonal rendering and drawing to foreign windows, gcc4 support, and much more.

Panda3D 1.2.0 Released

A new version of Panda3D, a free 3D engine that has been used in several commercial games, has been released.

Red Hat to acquire JBoss
